•  Welcome to the McCoy Counseling Website!

My name is Hannah McCoy and I'm so excited to work with you this year! This will be my 11th year in Georgetown ISD and my fifth year as the school counselor at McCoy. I have taught third grade, resource, and special education at Pickett Elementary. I have also taught 5th grade math at Frost Elementary and three summers at summer school.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Special Education from Sam Houston State University in 2013. After several years of teaching, I knew that I wanted to work in a role where I could support a wide variety of students and began my journey to becoming a school counselor. I graduated from Lamar University with my Master’s Degree in School Counseling in 2017. I'm currently in the process of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and recently completed my Clinical Mental Health Counseling Ceritifcate program through Lamar University in May of 2022.

Here at McCoy Elementary, I will provide school-wide guidance lessons for all Pre-K – 5th grade classes. These lessons are based on competencies outlined in The Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs, developed by the Texas Education Agency. In order to meet the needs of all students, I will also hold small group sessions, lunch bunches, and short term individual counseling sessions.

When I’m not at work, I love to work out and spend time with my husband and our two rescue dogs, Charlie and Leo. I'm a huge fan of Disney, unicorns, and coffee.

I look forward to working with you this year! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
