Hi there! My name is Erin Serrano and the adorable cat is Mr. Meatball! I am the art teacher here at Mitchell Elementary! I am a graduate of Texas State University with a studio art degree and a native North Austinite. I am also a working artist and sell my paintings at markets as well as paint murals for small businesses. For me, specials was what kept me in school. At Mitchell, we care about the entire child. Beyond academics, we also care about the humanities, such as art and music. Academics are how we keep living and the fine arts is why we keep doing it! You've probably heard the saying "the Earth without ART is just eh..." It is so important for kids to learn how to express themselves, practice problem solving, and acquire creativity.
