My Education & Training
B.B.A. from University of Louisiana at Monroe Teaching certification - LeTourneau University
Teaching Experience This year will be my 15th with Georgetown ISD and my 5th at Richarte! For my first 9 years at GISD, I taught at Tippit Middle School where I taught Contemporary World Cultures and Geography. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in the corporate world with State Farm Insurance for 22 years.
I am a native of northeast Louisiana where I grew up riding horses and camping in covered wagons. Before moving to Texas, I lived in Lafayette, Louisiana where the alligators grow big, the Cajun food is wonderful, and Mardi Gras is a way of life. We love to travel and learn about how people live in other wonderful places on earth.
Away from school I share my life with my husband Ron and daughters Erin and Anna. Our daughters are grown and live elsewhere in Texas, so the only little feet running around our house belong to our family cats Jasmine, Jezebel, and Buddy.
My class subjects are Dollars & Sense, Entrepreneurship, and Professional Communicaiton. In addition, I coordinate Eduphoria-Powerspeak courses and assist students who are taking dual-credit classes through Austin Community College. I also coordinate local scholarship applications, as well as SAT and ACT registration, and I do College and Career counseling.
