Student Transfers

Important Information: The transfer window opens on March 14th and closes on May 1st. Families who submit their transfer requests by the May 1st deadline can expect to receive a decision by the end of May. Please note Georgetown ISD schools are closed to out-of-district transfer requests, and students living in GISD are required to attend the school zoned for their residence address. 

• All transfer requests granted for school year 2024-2025 were effective for one year ONLY. Any student not approved for transfer will be reassigned to their zoned campus.
• Any family wishing to make a transfer request for the 2025–2026 school year MUST enter a new request by reaching out to your campus registrar.
• As shared during the rezoning process, grandfathering allowances were granted for one year only. Current 7th graders may apply for a transfer to remain at their current campus under the Special Considerations transfer request.
• All applications should be submitted during these posted periods. After that time, students who have not received an approved 2025-2026 transfer application will be returned to their zoned campus for the 2025-2026 school year.
