Resources Available for Parents: Measles Information, FAQs, and other resources
The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is reporting an outbreak of measles in several areas of Texas. Due to the highly contagious nature of this disease, additional cases are likely to occur.
To support our GISD families and community, we are providing information, FAQs, and other resources on our health services website.
Student Transfer Information - Window Open from March 14 - May 1
The GISD transfer window opens on March 14 and closes on May 1. Families who submit their transfer requests by the May 1 deadline can expect to receive a decision by the end of May. Please note Georgetown ISD schools are closed to out-of-district transfer requests, and students living in GISD are required to attend the school zoned for their residence address.
-
All transfer requests granted for the school year 2024-2025 were effective for one year ONLY. Any student not approved for transfer will be reassigned to their zoned campus.
-
Any family wishing to make a transfer request for the 2025–2026 school year MUST enter a new request by reaching out to your campus registrar.
-
As shared during the rezoning process, grandfathering allowances were granted for one year only. Current 7th graders may apply for a transfer to remain at their current campus under the Special Considerations transfer request. Due to capacity limitations at our campuses, younger siblings grandfathered during rezoning will not be approved for transfer again this year.
Visit our website for more information and the latest updates on transfers.
Annual GISD Learner Profile Student Survey (Grades 3-11)
In an effort to better support our students as they develop their Learner Profile traits, GISD conducts an annual survey for students in grades 3 - 11. This brief survey asks students to reflect on themselves and their experiences, which align to our GISD Learner Profile. Parents may preview the survey questions and choose to opt their student out of taking the survey if they prefer to do so. The GISD Feedback and Assessment site contains both the questions and opt-out link. Parents who choose to opt their student out of the survey must do so before March 28 as campuses will begin administering the survey to students during the month of April.
