Spring Climate Survey

Spring climate survey information, including a link to participate, was emailed to parents and staff on Tuesday, April 29. We encourage every parent and staff member in GISD to respond and share your experience in GISD this year.

Information is collected anonymously and used to inform our work, including campus improvement plans and the district’s strategic direction.

Surveys will remain open through Friday, May 16, 2025.

Groundbreaking Event on May 9: Elementary No. 12 and Middle School No. 5

Join us for a groundbreaking celebration on Friday, May 9 to celebrate the construction of Georgetown ISD's 12th Elementary School and 5th Middle School, projects funded by the 2024 Bond package.

These "sister" schools sit on the same property just south of East View High School.  Details are included in the invitation below.  We hope to see you there!

Student Transfer Information - Window Closes Today

The GISD transfer window opened on March 14 and closes on May 1. Families who submit their transfer requests by the May 1 deadline can expect to receive a decision by the end of May. Please note that Georgetown ISD schools are closed to out-of-district transfer requests, and students living in GISD are required to attend the school zoned for their residence address.

  • All transfer requests granted for the school year 2024-2025 were effective for one year ONLY. Any student not approved for transfer will be reassigned to their zoned campus.
  • Any family wishing to make a transfer request for the 2025–2026 school year MUST enter a new request by reaching out to your campus registrar.
  • As shared during the rezoning process, grandfathering allowances were granted for one year only. Current 7th graders may apply for a transfer to remain at their current campus under the Special Considerations transfer request. Due to capacity limitations at our campuses, younger siblings grandfathered during rezoning will not be approved for transfer again this year.

Visit our website for more information and the latest updates on transfers.

Save the Date: GISD Fine Arts Signing Day May 13

Join us for the 2025 Fine Arts Signing Day as we celebrate seniors continuing their education in the arts. The event will be held at Hammerlun, 507 E. University Ave. at 6 pm on May 13.

See the flyer on our website.

EVHS, Tippit and Wagner Mass Physical May 14 - Registration Now Open

Credit by Exam

Credit by Exam is offered by Georgetown ISD for enrolled students in grades Kindergarten-12. GISD offers exams free of charge to students. The purpose of CBE testing is for acceleration (students wishing to test out of a grade or course without having prior instruction), verification (verifying credit from homeschool or non-accredited private/public school), or recovery of credit for a course in which the student has had prior instruction.

For more information, please visit our website at https://www.georgetownisd.org/departments/assessment-feedback/credit-by-exam or speak with your student’s counselor.

Returning Student Registration Now Open for 2025-2026

If your student is currently enrolled and will be returning to GISD schools next year, returning student registration is now open in Skyward Family Access.  Please take a few minutes to provide updated information for each of the students in your family, including cell phone numbers and emergency contact information so that campuses have accurate information for the upcoming school year.

Families with address changes, transfer requests, lease agreements, or who are moving to 6th or 9th grade will need to provide an updated proof of residency document such as a recent utility bill (gas, water, or electric), mortgage statement, property tax statement, or lease agreement as part of returning student registration. This can be uploaded to Skyward or submitted to your campus registrar.

If your student will not be returning to GISD schools next year, please notify us so we may update our records accordingly.

From Our Partners:

From the Georgetown Project: Youth Voices Survey – Calling all 9th-12th Graders!

High schoolers are invited to take the Youth Voices Survey, a quick questionnaire that lets students share which issues matter most to them. This input will help shape the Youth Summit this fall—an event where students meet with city, school, and community leaders to discuss real challenges and ideas for change.

📢 Georgetown youth, we want to hear from you!
