Future Ready Fair - September 24 

The Future Readiness Fair for all GISD high school students will take place on September 24 at East View High School from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, and we are inviting local military and college recruiters as well as local businesses to participate. 

At the Future Readiness Fair, students are provided the opportunity to explore and connect with college admissions representatives, business organizations, public service officers, and military recruiters. This in-person event gives high school students the chance to interact one-on-one with college, career, and military representatives and to envision postsecondary success in many forms.
 

All high school students in Georgetown ISD and their parents are invited to attend the event. 

2024-2025 Ballet Folklorico - Register by Sept. 26

GISD Federal Programs invites you to sign up for the 3rd annual 3rd-5th grade Ballet Folklórico program for Georgetown ISD.  This will be a mixed group of boys and girls. Practice will be every Thursday at Hammerlun (507 E University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626 ) from 4:30-5:30pm starting October 10.  

Parents will need to provide transportation to the weekly practice. There is no cost to participate, but parents will need to provide dance shoes. You will receive more information from the instructors at the first practice. 

Please complete this form by Sept. 26 if you are interested in participating.  

Academic Calendar Survey - Open Through September 30

Your feedback on the academic calendar is important and we are asking for your input by completing a brief survey. Your feedback on last year’s calendar for 2023-2024 will inform our decisions for the 2025-2026 academic calendar.

GISD Goes Gold in September for Childhood Cancer Awareness

GISD is "Going Gold" this September to raise awareness about childhood cancer and support families in our GISD community who have a student facing a life-changing cancer diagnosis.

From The Georgetown Project: GED Classes Start in September

The Georgetown Project is partnering with Community Action Inc. to bring GED programming to Georgetown for interested adults. Classes start soon!  Learn more about the program and how to enroll on our website.

From GTXConnect: Georgetown Powwow September 28 

Georgetown Powwow is a free community event featuring Native American arts and crafts, food booths and more. The event is open to the public on Sept. 28 from 11am-5pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown. See the flyer on our website for more info. 

From GTXConnect: Fiesta Georgetown October 5

Fiesta Georgetown invites everyone in the community to come and celebrate the culture and heritage of the Hispanic / Latinx community. The celebration will feature non-stop entertainment with musical and dance performances, arts and crafts, Kids Corner located at the Georgetown Library, as well as a GISD Piñata contest. There will be a variety of foods and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase, and proceeds go to the City of Georgetown’s Promise Fund Scholarship.

From the GISD Education Foundation: Tickets on Sale for Fifty Fellas Food Fest

The Georgetown ISD Education Foundation will host its 7th Annual 50 Fellas Food Fest on Saturday, October 19 at the Ride On Center for Kids (R.O.C.K.) event barn to support students and teachers in Georgetown ISD.

Tickets to the event are $75 each and include tastings from every team, plus complimentary

adult beverages, tea, and water. Guests will also enjoy live music and a live auction. Sponsorships for the event start at $250.

From the Georgetown Area Jr. Forum: Chicks for Charity Designer Purse Bingo Oct. 8

GAJF Chicks for Charity Designer Purse Bingo is happening October 8 from 6–9pm at the Georgetown Community Center. Doors will open at 5:30pm. The event features:

  • 8+ bingo games with designer purse prizes (Kate Spade, Dooney and Burke, Coach, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Brahmin, and more)

  • Ticket raffles

  • Silent auction

  • Food, desserts, and beverages

Individual tickets include food, 2 drink tickets, and 8 bingo game cards (1 card per game).
