Family: Coach Gutierrez is the oldest of four born to a migrant family in the Rio Grande Valley.  He was the first in his family to attend college and stresses the importance of education to all of his athletes. Coach Gutierrez moved to the Austin area in 2016 where he taught health and coached at a local middle school. It was there that he met his wife Jessie, also a teacher.  They welcomed their first child, Ezra in October of 2020. They also have another child, Riley (k-9).

Hobbies: Coach Gutierrez is an avid Cowboys fan and never misses a game. In his spare time he enjoys attending baseball games, lifting weights, and reading non-fiction books about historical events.
