Student Flu Clinic - Canceled
We regret to inform you that the flu clinic planned for this fall has been canceled. Our partner, Healthy Schools, informed us this week that they are discontinuing the program and will no longer provide this service in Texas. If you signed up your child for a flu shot, you will also receive a cancelation email from Healthy Schools. We apologize for the inconvenience. As a district, we are currently looking for options for our students and will communicate with our families if a viable alternative is available.
GHS Homecoming Time Change

Senate Bill 232 Algebra II Requirement
The 86th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, 2019, passed SB 232 requiring school districts, not later than September 1 of each school year, to notify by regular mail or email the parents or guardians of each student enrolled in grade nine or above that state graduation requirements do not require a student to complete an Algebra II course to graduate under the Foundation High School Program. Senate Bill 232 Algebra II requirement document can be found in English and Español.

Changes are coming to Advanced Placement (AP) Courses
The College Board is changing how Advanced Placement (AP) courses and AP exams will be offered for the 2019-20 school year. These changes impact when Georgetown ISD students will register and pay for AP exams. Students will now register for AP Exams in the fall. Other changes include new online resources for students and teachers and updated exam costs. Visit the website for more information on GISD Advanced Placement program. Still have questions? Submit a Let’s Talk dialogue. Click on Advanced Placement and someone will reach out to help answer your questions.

How to become a volunteer and mentor in our schools
GISD is always in need of volunteers and mentors! The volunteer program is a great way to get involved with a variety of programs within GISD. The mentor program provides an opportunity for community members to meet one-on-one with a student once a week during the lunch hour. If you are a current volunteer or mentor, GISD is now running background checks automatically, which means you will not need to reapply this year. When you are approved or if more information is needed, you will receive an email notifying you of your background check status. If you are interested in becoming a new volunteer or mentor, please fill out an application today.
2019-2020 UIL Eligibility Calendar
Please be aware that the 2019-2020 UIL Eligibility Calendar and requirements can be found on our website. For more information, please contact our athletics department.
From the City: Water Conservation
The dog days of summer are here and the city is asking water customers to reduce their irrigation use by ten percent, adhere to the two-day watering schedule, and not water on Mondays or between noon and 7 p.m. To view a calendar of assigned watering days and to learn more about water conservation, visit the city’s website
