Benold Counseling Service
To: Benold Parents and Guardians From: Benold Counseling Office
As we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, we want to make certain you and your student know we are here and remain committed to supporting our students. While our students are in a remote learning environment, we are available to meet virtually in a 1:1 environment through Google Meet (video) or phone.
To set up a meeting, call 512-948-5090 or email Jennifer Lugo (last name A-L) at firstname.lastname@example.org or Amanda Smith (last name M-Z) at email@example.com and arrangements will be made. We are able to visit with your student in a virtual 1:1 setting to talk about academic or career planning without needing your consent. Should the topic be of a personal/social nature, we do need your consent prior to meeting 1:1 in a virtual setting with your student.
You can find a copy of this consent at this link (eng) / (esp). We don’t want this form to be a barrier to meeting with your student. With that in mind, there are multiple ways for you to share your consent with us using this document.
As an additional resource to you and your student, GISD has partnered with Care Solace.
Should your student or your immediate family members be in need of
community-based mental health supports, consider contacting Care Solace. Should you choose this option, a Care Solace team member will support you by listening to your specific needs and understanding any specific obstacles that your family may have when seeking support. With this information in hand, the representative will search for vetted mental health professionals within our community that fit your needs. This service includes calling these community-based supports to confirm that availability exists. In the end, the Care Solace team member will call you back with all the information and options that exist for you and your immediate family. This service is available 24/7 in multiple languages. Care Solace can be reached:
- By phone: 1-888-515-0595
- By Video: caresolace.com/gisdfamilies (click the “Talk to Us” tab)
- By Email: firstname.lastname@example.org (include your name, contact information, preferred language, a good time for a team member to respond)
As always, in the event of a medical or mental health emergency, please do not email your school counselor or call Care Solace. Instead, contact the following sources immediately:
- Crisis Text Line: text "home" to 741-741
- National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-8255
- Williamson County Mobile Outreach Team (MOT): (512) 864-8277
- 911 or visit your nearest hospital emergency room if you can get there safely
