Summer Meal Program
The Summer Meal Program began June 1 at Purl ES, Frost ES and Tippit MS. The program is open to students through age 18. Two meals will be distributed daily via drive-through service: a hot lunch and a breakfast intended for the following day. 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. throughout the summer on regular school business days
Cyber Patriot Summer Camp
June 8-12
Monday- Friday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
(1 hour lunch break at Noon daily and breaks through the day)
Camp is recommended for students in 6th-12th grade
Throughout this week you’ll learn about basic cybersecurity principles, including cyber ethics. You’ll also learn skills needed to protect your own computer or a network of computers from outside threats. After this camp we hope you go on to participate with a CyberPatriot team in the Cyber Defense Competition. This camp includes electronic materials, a Virtual Machine in the Cloud, direct on-line instruction for each activity and a final day competition on Friday. Activities are hands-on and there are opportunities to work together as a team with other attendees. This camp is moderated by an expert instructor who works in the Cyber Security Field (Tim Amerson) and coordinated by Georgetown ISD Coordinator, Carey Thornell. Thanks to our Sponsor Aries Security (http://www.ariessecurity.com/) for providing our Cloud Lab and Competition Environment.
To sign up for Cyber Patriot Summer Camp please fill out this form. For questions, call (512) 677-2912 or email Carey Thornell at thornellc@georgetownisd.org.

In addition to the kit and instructions, you will have the opportunity to connect online through Google Meets with other campers to share what you have created and create together!

Sora - Audiobooks and eBooks for Middle School & High School Students
We are excited to introduce Georgetown ISD’s newest reading platform, Sora! Sora is an app or website where you can access thousands of popular audio and ebooks. These items were purchased by the GISD librarians based on the most popular checkouts at each secondary school. Using Sora, you can earn badges, bookmark your spots, make notes, and define words as you read.
Middle school and high school students can get to Sora through ClassLink or by downloading the Sora app (on Apple or Android devices) and signing in with their GISD login information. Important note: When prompted, search for Georgetown ISD, not your school. Students can check out ebooks and audiobooks for two weeks, and put holds on two more items.
Inside the Sora app, you can sync your public library account to access even more free books! Need to create a Georgetown Public Library account? Call (512) 930-3551 or stop by their building!
