NWEA MAP BOY Progress Reports are now Available
Parents of students in grades K-8 can now find the Beginning of Year NWEA MAP progress report in the student portfolio section of Skyward Family Access. Please email Lindsay Cooper at cooperl@georgetownisd.org for help accessing score reports. Please contact your student’s subject level teacher for questions regarding the report data and student progress.

We’re excited to have new ParentU resources on our website including:
How to Avoid Tantrums for elementary school parents. This resource includes a list of tips and tricks you can use to help your student avoid tantrums, along with links to resources on child behavior.
Personal Graduation Plans for helping your student develop a personal graduation plan starting in middle school.
Standards-Based Report Card for elementary school parents. This resource provides information on standards-based report cards and how they are developed.
Special Programs Parent Meeting Tonight: Vocational Transition & GISD November Bond Proposal
Vocational Transition will be presented by GISD Transition Specialist, Sidra Glass, tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Hammerlun Center for Leadership and Learning.
The topics that will be covered include:
• Workforce Services Pre-employment transition service
• Job Sites willing to hire
• Planning for meaningful employment Information on the GISD November Bond Proposal will also be shared. We hope you’ll join us!
Join us for Our Next Community Bond Presentation on October 13
The district will host five community presentations to share information about the propositions voters will see on the November 2 ballot. Join us to learn more and ask questions in an interactive environment. The next presentation will be held on October 13 at 6 pm at Carver Elementary.
Financial Aid, College Application, and Scholarship Workshop
Need help exploring financial aid options for postsecondary plans? Want help completing your application for college? Seniors and parents of seniors will receive one-on-one help with FAFSA/TASFA completion, college applications, and scholarship applications on October 23 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at East View High School. In order to meet the needs of all participants, please register for this event.
Georgetown High School Theatre Upcoming Performances: Chicago
Georgetown High School theatre will be performing Chicago this fall. You can enjoy this play set in the roaring 20s that tells the story of two rival murderesses locked up in Cook County Jail. Tickets are available at https://the512presents.ludus.com/index.php
