GISD Art Students Win Accolades at the Central Texas Art Competition
On November 16, visual arts students in GISD competed in the Central Texas Art Competition. The competition, hosted by Temple College, is open to 34 different Central Texas schools and was curated by Kyle Chaput, assistant professor of art at Baylor University.
Of more than 550 entries:
Two GISD students, Lorelei Ney and Victoria Yakesch, were selected for Honorable Mention.
Three GISD students, Isabella Funkhouser, Sophie Kim, and Tristen Pride were selected for Awards of Excellence.
One GISD student, Ashley Normann, was selected for Best of Show. The work will hang for display in the Temple College Art Gallery until Dec 3.
