From the City of Georgetown: POPPtoberFest is coming up!
POPPtoberFest, this year’s rescheduled Red Poppy Festival, kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, and lasts through 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3. We’re excited about the music lineup and other event highlights for the weekend:
- Headlining 9:30 p.m. Saturday: Dale Watson
- Also performing Saturday: Two Tons of Steel at 8:15 p.m. and Brave Combo at 6 p.m.
- Dysfunkshun Junkshun will take the stage at 7 p.m. Friday.
- The Peterson Brothers Band will perform at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
POPPtoberFest also features a car show, kids’ area, pet parade, and more!
Traffic in and around the Square will be heavy and detoured throughout that weekend. The City is offering a variety of options for visitors to get to the festival, including free parking lots and a shuttle on Saturday.
Georgetown may feel like a small town, but this is going to be a big party. Folks need to plan to arrive early, be patient, and be prepared to be amongst hundreds of people, especially on Saturday night.
Please visit the event website for more detail about road closures, parking, Saturday’s shuttle, and information about COVID-19 safety measures: POPPtoberfest.com
