Harrison Named as Director of Human Resources

The Georgetown Independent School District announced that Sue Harrison has been selected as the new Director of Human Resources for the district.

Harrison currently serves as Human Resources Coordinator for Round Rock ISD. Before that, she worked in a variety of human resource roles in public education and in New York and Arizona for communications industry companies such as Comcast and Time Warner Cable.  Sue also previously served as a campus administrator and Assistant Director of Staffing for Round Rock ISD.

She is a former math teacher with a master’s degree in educational leadership from Texas State University in San Marcos. She has a bachelor of science degree in financial management from Clemson University in South Carolina. She also holds the following certificates: Society of Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

In her new role, Harrison will work with the human resources staff to ensure the effective operation and management of district personnel functions, including professional and auxiliary recruitment and staffing, wage and salary administration, staff appraisals, hiring practices and employee relations and benefits.  She replaces Jessica Neyman, who was recently selected to lead the human resources department in Killeen ISD.

Harrison will start in her new role on March 9.
