GISD Hires Two Principals

bj Brandon Jayroe Named New Principal for Benold Middle School

On Monday, the Georgetown ISD Board of Trustees named Dr. Brandon Jayroe as the new principal of Benold Middle School. He is filling the vacancy that was created when principal Les Michalik retired in January.

Jayroe currently serves at the principal of Stephen F. Austin Middle School in Bryan ISD. He has served in public education for 16 years and brings experience from Dallas ISD, Palestine ISD, and Bryan ISD as an elementary teacher, assistant principal and principal.

Jayroe earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University, his Master of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. He will be moving to Georgetown with his wife Daisy, and their three children, Luke, Jack, and Reed.




rob Dyer Named New Principal of Richarte High School

Rob Dyer has been named the new principal of Richarte High School following the retirement of Marsha Winship.

Dyer has served in Georgetown ISD for 13 years and has served as the principal of Mitchell Elementary for the past nine years. Over his 22-year career in public education, he has served as an elementary and middle school teacher, track coach, assistant principal at both the elementary and middle school levels, and principal.

Dyer received his Master of Education Administration from Southwest Texas State University and his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and History from Eastern New Mexico University. He and his wife, Lisa, have three girls who attend Georgetown schools. Madison is a freshman at EVHS, Kennedy is in the 7th grade at Forbes Middle School, and Reagan attends Mitchell Elementary School.
