District to Host Rezoning Meetings in December - Next meeting Dec. 5
Growth in Georgetown requires thoughtful planning, and your feedback is needed to determine future attendance zones for the new Williams and Wolf Ranch elementary schools, which are under construction now and planned for a late summer 2020 opening. Additionally, zones will be adjusted to relieve capacity issues at Carver Elementary, Mitchell Elementary and Wagner Middle Schools as well as maximize capacity at all GISD campuses.

Reminder: Upcoming Holiday Break and Early Release Information
The winter holiday break is December 23, 2019 - January 3, 2020. Please be aware: Monday, January 6, 2020 is a Student Holiday. GISD schools will resume normal hours on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
Students are also scheduled to have an early release on Friday, December 20, 2019. You can review early release times for campuses on our website: www.georgetownisd.org/schoolhours.
GHS Show Choir presents “A Holiday to Remember” - Dec. 5-7
The GHS Show Choir presents “A Holiday to Remember” Dec 5-7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Klett Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or online.

2019-20 Elementary Gifted/Talented Student Referral Window - deadline Dec. 6
The 2019-20 window for referring elementary students for Gifted/Talented assessment is Friday, November 1, 2019 at 8:00 am through Friday, December 6, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Information about the referral process is available on our website.
East View High School Choral Department to present A Jolly Holiday - Dec. 12-15
The EVHS Choral Department is excited to present A Jolly Holiday. This show will get you in the holiday spirit, you won’t want to miss it! There will be singing, dancing, and holiday costumes galore! This year’s production includes traditional Christmas and holiday songs and a visit from Santa, Rudolph, The Grinch and Frosty the Snowman.
The show will begin on Dec. 12 to 15 at the East View High School Auditorium. Pre-sale tickets may be purchased online at eastviewchoir.com, at the front reception of East View High School December 9-13 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, or at the door for $5. Tickets usually sell out so purchase your tickets today!
Middle School Future Readiness Fair - Dec. 10
Students from Tippit and Wagner and their parents are invited to East View High School on December 10 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the cafeteria for their Middle School Future Readiness Fair.
This event will feature parent sessions on graduation requirements; parent sessions on advanced academics options in high school; a high school student panel providing guidance to middle school students; facility tours; and an array of demonstrations and informational booths for career paths, high school courses, and student clubs and organizations. Eighth-grade students and their parents don’t want to miss this one opportunity to learn more about East View High School options, to see classrooms and laboratories, and to visit with high school students and teachers.
Time is running out to provide feedback on High School ELAR materials adoption - deadline Dec. 13
Instructional resources and materials adoption happens every 8-10 years and your input is vital to shape the learning experience of our students for the future.

From The Junior League of Austin: Coats for Kids Event Dec. 7
The Junior League of Austin will have its annual Coats for Kids community fair on December 7 at the Palmer Events Center. Families will have the opportunity to select warm coats for children in their family. The community fair has a variety of agencies that serve Austin and the surrounding communities.
There is no need to line up outside of the Palmer Events Center prior to the event opening as volunteers will be putting out new and gently used coats continuously throughout the event.

From the Rotary Club of Sun City: Breakfast with Santa - Dec. 14
Enjoy Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 14 at the Georgetown Community Center in San Gabriel Park. Georgetown Fire Department personnel serve up pancakes and sausage and Santa hears last-minute wishes from kids.
Tickets are $6/ per person and can be purchased at the door. Proceeds benefit the Rotary Club of Sun City who provides gifts for local families during the holiday season.
From the City: Georgetown Arts and Culture Grants - deadline Dec. 31
The Georgetown Arts and Culture Board is seeking grant proposals for art, music, theatre, dance, and cultural heritage events and programs taking place in Georgetown between April 2020 and September 2020.
Nonprofit organizations, schools, informal arts and culture organizations, and individual artists who are creating public art, arts and culture programming, or an event open to the public are eligible to apply.
