Ford Campus Plan for Return to Learn

Ford Campus Plan & Parent FAQ Form:

Our why is about our contribution to impact and serve others. Our why inspires us. It helps us focus our efforts on what matters most. I can say without a doubt our why was your children. They are what matters most to us. Together as partners, we worked to overcome obstacles and inspire your children to develop their purpose, their skills, their passion, and expertise. Over the past months, we have asked you to work harder than you ever have, to become experts in technology, to open up your living rooms as classrooms, and to find imaginative ways to make learning fun and meaningful.  Our teachers and our families have taken on this new responsibility with dignity and grace.  A quote from Bob Riley says it best. “Hard Times don’t create heroes. It is during the hard times when the ‘hero’ within us is revealed.”

I understand there are difficult decisions to be made about your child's learning for the coming year. However, I want you to know that I believe in our teachers and staff, as they've demonstrated to me time and time again how they help reveal the "hero" in all of us. I know that our why at Ford remains YOUR children. No matter the choice you make for In-Person or Remote learning for your child at Ford, I know our teachers will be pouring themselves into creating outstanding learning opportunities and teaching your child with the highest of standards, lots of love and care, with the highest priority being your child's safety and health, continued growth, and meaningful learning.  It's for these reasons that I believe our Back to School Campus Safety Plan will continue to adapt, change, and reflect the most current safety requirements, protocols, and recommendations so that we keep your children and our staff safe and well.

 Next Steps:

  • Parents are asked to determine their child's learning environment for when we return to school after GISD's remote start on Sept. 10th.  Parents should make these decisions for their students by AUGUST 6th in Skyward.

  • Ready to make the learning determination for your child already in Skyward?  You can do that now!   (Remote or In-Person for Sept. 10th)?  Here's how:
