Summer Hours for GISD Facilities + the GISD Health & Wellness Center
Georgetown ISD will operate this summer on a modified schedule. Facilities will be closed on Fridays between June 9 and July 28 as well as the week of July 3-7.
We will be open for business on Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Our health and wellness center operated by Lone Star Circle of Care will follow similar hours during the summer to continue providing care for our students, staff and their immediate families. You can access the health center on Monday through Thursday from 7 am –4 pm.
To learn more about the health center or make an appointment, visit our website for details at www.georgetownisd.org/healthcenter.
Superintendent Search: Online Survey Closes Tomorrow
Hazard, Young and Attea, Associates has been secured to lead the search for a new superintendent and are interested in your feedback as they draft a candidate profile.
There’s still time to complete the online survey. It closes at the end of the day tomorrow, May 19. Please note, the survey is conducted by the search firm, which ensures that your individual responses are kept anonymous and confidential. For more information about the search process or to access the online survey, please visit www.georgetownisd.org/superintendentsearch.
Your Feedback Requested - Federal Grant Funding
As a public education institution, Georgetown ISD is eligible for federal funding in a number of areas. In preparation for next school year, we’re asking for your feedback to inform how we use these funds related to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the Special Education (IDEA-B), and the Perkins V: Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century (CTE). An online survey will remain open through June 6, and we invite you to share your thoughts on any or all of the components included.
District Seeks Feedback from Parents and Staff via Annual Survey
Annual climate survey information, including links to participate, were emailed to parents and staff on Tuesday, May 10. We encourage every parent and staff member in GISD to respond and share your experience in GISD during the last school year. Information is collected anonymously and used to inform our work including campus improvement plans and pathway development.
Surveys will remain open through May 26, 2023.

GISD Goes Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness
GISD will "Go Gold" this September to raise awareness about childhood cancer and support families in our community who are facing this life-changing diagnosis during National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
You'll hear more about two big events during football season this fall:
EVHS will "Go Gold" on Sept 1 and GHS will "Go Gold" on Sept. 8 during home football games. In addition to supporting a good cause, it's an incredible effort to unite our community: One Town. One District, One Cause: Gold.
For now, one way to get involved is to join the movement and purchase a t-shirt. Details are available here: https://georgetowngoesgold.itemorder.com/shop/sale/. And while September seems like a long way off, there is a t-shirt order deadline in August, photo shoots being planned and more!
Summer learning, summer meals and summer camps
Planning your summer? Be sure to visit our website at www.georgetownisd.org/summerprograms to learn about summer camp opportunities, where to find free meals for students and more.
