Alfonso Longoria named as new principal at Tippit Middle School
The Georgetown Independent School District announced July 18 that Alfonso Longoria has been selected to lead Tippit Middle School as their new principal.
Longoria has served as Academy Director at Kealing Middle School in Austin since 2015, where he was responsible for managing the school’s academy program, including academy staff, professional development and recruitment of students. Prior to that, he served as an assistant principal, teacher and coach in Del Valle, Pflugerville, Round Rock and Leander schools. He has also served as a quality control coach for the University of Arkansas football team.
“It’s clear that building relationships is important to Alfonso,” said Dr. Bryan Hallmark, assistant superintendent for operations and campus leadership. “His knowledge of instruction and ability to lead others stood out during the interview process. We are excited for him to join the team.”
As principal, Longoria will direct and manage all campus operations and lead campus instructional programs to ensure high standards of instruction and student achievement. He begins his new role on July 24.
Longoria holds a master's degree in education and community leadership and a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science, both from Texas State University. He lives in Round Rock, where his children are enrolled in school.
