Updated school supply lists are now available for elementary and middle schools.
Summer Meal Program
The Summer Meal Program ends tomorrow, August 7, at Purl and Frost elementary schools.

Free and Reduced Meal Applications
Free and reduced-price meals are available to Georgetown ISD students who qualify under the required income eligibility guidelines.

Starting on August 20, 2020, GISD will begin distributing letters to the households of the students in the district about eligibility benefits and any actions households need to take to apply for these benefits. Visit hhs.texas.gov/pebt to learn more about P-EBT. For questions regarding eligibility, or if you need help applying, contact the P-EBT Call Center at 833-613-6220.
School Health Advisory Council Openings
The Georgetown ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is currently taking applications for it's board-approved voting members. We currently have seven open seats for parents of GISD students. The SHAC meets five times per year and discusses topics related to GISD students and staff in the areas of mental health, nutrition, health (medical), health (physical) and overall student wellness. Through the work of the SHAC, an annual board presentation is conducted to provide advisement and recommendations for GISD in these areas.
In order to have a membership that represents our district as a whole, we are prioritizing GISD parents of students on the EVHS feeder pattern. Please know that all of our SHAC meetings are open. Should you not fall within the EVHS and still want to participate on the SHAC as a non-voting member, we encourage you to do so.
The application for the seats on the SHAC will open on August 6, 2020 and close on August 13th, 2020. For more information about the GISD SHAC, please visit our website.
20-21 DPC website nominations

If you have additional questions, please share via Let's Talk and select “District Performance Council”.
From Our Community Partners:
From the Georgetown Area Junior Forum: Community School Supply Student Distribution event
The Georgetown Area Junior Forum (GAJF) will host a free school supply event on Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club parking lot. This is a drive-through operation where families will stay in vehicles while masked GAJF volunteers distribute pre-packaged backpacks with basic school supplies. This event is open to all GISD families. No minimum or maximum number per vehicle. For questions or more information, contact the Georgetown Area Junior Forum (GAJF) at GAJFWebmaster@gmail.com or visit the Georgetown Area Junior Forum website.
From the City: Get help paying your utility bills
Has your employment or income been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic? The City of Georgetown has funding available to help you pay your utility bills. Anyone who has lost their income since the start of this year may qualify.
The COVID-19 Customer Assistance Program offers up to $1,500 to residential utility customers who have past due balances in 2020 and can show their income or employment has been affected by the pandemic or any resulting restrictions, such as the stay home orders that were in effect. Financial assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis while funds last.
Funding for this program comes from unanticipated income and special revenues in both our water and electric utilities.

From the City: Share your priorities for mobility around Georgetown
The City of Georgetown is putting together a mobility bond package for a vote by its residents in May 2021. The primary focus areas of this mobility bond are:
- Increasing capacity of Georgetown’s roadway network and bridges with high traffic volume.
- Improving intersections, building sidewalks, and enhancing safety throughout Georgetown to create new connections within and among neighborhoods.
- Coordinating with other planned transportation work, including projects identified in our Pedestrian and Bike master plans, to accelerate delivery to Georgetown residents
Residents will drive the development of this bond, from a citizen advisory committee that will provide final recommendations to multiple opportunities for public feedback before the election is called. Help us pave a future we can all get behind: Share your priorities for improving transportation and mobility around our city by taking this quick survey. The survey will be open through Aug. 15. Note: Survey works best in Chrome & Firefox. All questions with a red * must be answered to submit.
From the Georgetown Complete Count Committee: 2020 Census
Our community is growing and some of our new families may have been missed by the Census flyers that were mailed in the spring. If you didn’t receive an official Census invitation, it’s not too late to take the 2020 Census! Your participation helps inform how important federal money is spent in our community for things like school lunch programs, student loans, health clinics, and more. To complete the Census online, visit my2020census.gov or call 1-844-330-2020. You count! The Census Bureau is hiring for temporary, part-time positions. Learn more at https://2020census.gov/en/jobs.
