Information about the referral process will be available on our website. Survey: Academic Calendar
Your feedback on the academic calendar is important and we are asking for your input by completing this brief survey. More information and parameters for consideration are available on our website.
ELAR New Resource Adoption
What you need to know
Instructional resources and materials adoption happens every 8-10 years and your input is vital to shape the learning experience of our students for the future.
We invite you to participate in the high school English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) materials adoption process for 2020, visit with vendors and share feedback on the materials you would like to see in our classrooms.
On November 22, from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m., vendors will be on-site at the Hammerlun Center for Leadership and Learning to visit with teachers, staff, parents and community members about the proposed materials and options available.
You’ll have a chance to review these materials, ask questions and provide feedback.
This is a come-and-go event. If you’re unable to attend, you can still provide feedback. View digital samples, see the TEKS alignment report and access the feedback form on our website by December 13.
If you have questions, Let’s Talk. Simply click on the button for “High School Materials Adoption” and a member of our team will get back to you.
District Reviews Attendance Zones to Address Growth and New Campuses
Growth in Georgetown requires thoughtful planning and the board of trustees reviewed a plan at the October meeting to rezone parts of the district that would be implemented with the 2020-2021 school year.
The process will create attendance zones for Williams Elementary School and Wolf Ranch Elementary School, both of which are under construction now and planned for a late summer 2020 opening. Additionally, zones will be adjusted to relieve capacity issues at Carver Elementary, Mitchell Elementary and Wagner Middle Schools as well as maximize capacity at all GISD campuses.
Read more about the process and when you can participate in a public meeting.
Veterans Day Celebrations Across GISD
The celebration of Veterans Day is a long-standing tradition in Georgetown ISD. The district will be honoring those who have served in the armed forces with a variety of programs and ceremonies held throughout the day on Monday, November 11. We invite veterans and active military members in our community to join us at any of the celebrations taking place at our campuses. Find the complete list of Veteran’s Day events on our website.
Human Sexuality Information Session
A parent information session will be held on Wednesday, November 13 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the Hammerlun Center for Leadership and Learning, 507 E. University Ave., to learn more about the middle school human sexuality curriculum. Parents will have the opportunity to preview and ask questions about the curriculum.
