Next Week at Purl

Note from Purl Admin

It's hard to believe that the 18-19 school year is coming to an end. There has been so much learning this school year, through the laughter and tears our students and staff have grown tremendously. Even though the last day of school is this Thursday, that doesn't mean the learning stops. Every experience, every conversation, every observation is an opportunity to learn, grow, and expand upon curiosity. Students look up to the adults in their lives to see how they problem solve, how they communicate with others, and how they learn something new - so even though school is "over", learning never stops. We can't wait to see what they've learned all summer when they come back next school year!

Class/Teacher Assignments for 19-20
Class assignments for the new school year have already been a work in progress. This is a process that will continue through the summer months and will be finalized before school starts in August. Students will be assigned to mixed ability classes with consideration for special programs (such as GT, special education, 504, etc.). Current teacher input, personalizties, learning styles, class size, conduct, and social/emotional needs are all taken into consideration when placing students in class.
Parents can send teacher requests to the principal via email, but this does not guarantee that the request will be fulfilled. Movement can happen throughout the summer and staff changes occur. We are happy to hear your input regarding what will help make a successful school year for your child.

Returning Student Enrollment

Attention ALL families: please be sure to complete returning student registration in  Skyward Family Access to update all student information. 5th Graders will not be given a middle school schedule until this is complete. We will not be able to assign a teacher or classroom for students that do not have updated information in Skyward. Even if nothing has changed, please log in to check and submit information using these steps. We have family involvement specialists on campus Monday and Friday, and technology to help complete this step before the end of the school year.

Kids Against Hunger

Our students were able to pack over 60,000 meals last week! We raised enough funds to pack over 10,000 boxes for Kids Against Hunger. Our student council chose to serve the local community by donating 2000 meals to the Caring Place. The rest of the meals will be donated to centers near border towns.
