Join us March 2 for the 8th Annual State of the District event

This free event invites the community to an immersive experience featuring the work of students and staff district-wide in the areas of academics, career and technical education, and fine arts, including innovative projects and programs that were funded with grants from the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation. Interact with students from all grade levels, experience what students are learning in Georgetown ISD through visual showcases and performances, presentations, and enjoy small bites throughout the event.

Dr. Brent will share his state of the district address which will highlight advancements in teaching and learning and a map for the future.

Tickets are free but registration is encouraged

Public Hearing of Annual Academic Performance Report (TAPR) - Feb. 21


Georgetown ISD will hold a public hearing for its annual report on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The annual report includes the 2021-2022 Texas Academic Performance Report, which compiles a wide range of information on each Texas school, including dropout and attendance rates; college, career and military readiness; and participation in readiness assessments.


A public presentation of the report will be held on February 21, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the Boardroom, in Building 1, at the GISD Hammerlun Center for Leadership & Learning, 507 E. University Avenue.

Multilingual Webinar - Feb. 22


Join us for a webinar/discussion with hot chocolate and pastries. This webinar will focus on literacy services to improve English language skills and training in parenting activities. Please join us on February 22 from 9-11 AM at the Hammerlun Center, 507 E University Ave.

Car & Plane Show Benefits GISD Auto Programs - Feb. 25


The 12th Annual Car & Vintage Plane Show returns to  the Georgetown Airport February 25, 2023, with proceeds from the event benefiting automotive programs in Georgetown ISD. 


Visitors can enjoy a car show, Falcon flight formation, a Skydiving Team demonstration, swap meet, and airplane rides. Visit our

HBCU College Fair - March 10


HBCU Battle of the Brains, the National Football League (NFL), and 100 Black Men of Austin will host an HBCU College Fair at the Austin Public Library’s Special Events Center (710 W Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78701) on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.


This event allows 6th through 12th graders and parents/guardians to learn more about our nation's Historically Black Colleges and Universities. 25+ HBCU representatives and local college admissions leaders will be present to discuss completing the FAFSA form, resume and application needs, essay and interview prep, independent scholarships, and more.


Graduating in 2023? Bring your transcripts, test scores, and resumes for on the spot college acceptances.

This event is open to the public and is FREE for colleges/universities AND attendees. Visit our website to view the event flyer.

From the City of Georgetown: Additional tree debris cleanup options for Georgetown residents from the winter storm

The city will offer free, curbside tree limb pick up for people living in Georgetown city limits.

The deadline to get your tree limbs and other natural debris (cacti, bushes, etc.) out to the curb is Sunday, Feb. 26. You do not need to sign up.

The City’s contractor will start pickup Feb. 27 in every council district simultaneously. They will collect from every street once.
