We are excited to announce that graduation this year will be held at Birkelbach Field for the third year in a row. GISD will also celebrate the class of 2022 with a community parade.

District Seeks Feedback from Parents and Staff via Annual Survey Through May 27
Annual climate survey information, including links, were emailed to parents and staff on Friday, May 6. We encourage every parent and staff member in GISD to respond and share your experience in GISD during the last school year. Information is collected anonymously and used to inform our work including campus improvement plans and pathway development.
Surveys will remain open through tomorrow, May 27.
2022 Summer Meal Information
Free meals are provided for youth ages 18 and younger during the summer at select campuses.
Students do not need to provide a GISD ID to participate and meals are provided at no cost.
Summer Meals will be offered from May 31 - July 29.

Dual Language Applications for Incoming Kinder Students Now Being Accepted
GISD Federal Programs - Bilingual/ESL has begun accepting applications to our Dual Language program for incoming Kindergarteners for the 2022-23 school year. You can find information about the program and access to the application on our website.
View Proposed 2023-24 Options for 2023-23 Academic Calendar
Three calendar options have been prepared for consideration for the 2023-24 academic year, reviewed by our District Performance Council (DPC) and were shared with the board for a review at the May 16 meeting.
DPC members will review the feedback they have received from their constituents and will ultimately select a calendar option to propose for approval by the Board of Trustees at the June meeting.

GISD/LSCC Health and Wellness Center Open Through Summer
GISD Health & Wellness Center will be open throughout the Summer to serve District Students and Staff.
The district’s health center operates year-round and serves our students and staff as well as their immediate families. If you or someone in your family is in need of medical care, our partners with the Lone Star Circle of Care can help. The health center is ready to serve you in various ways including urgent care, chronic care, physicals, and immunizations.
Summer Hours starting June 6: Monday through Friday, 7 am - 4 pm
(Closed on district holidays)

East View Little Cheer Camp June 7 and 9
The little cheerleaders who attend this 2-day camp will learn chants, stunts and play games
with the EVHS cheer squad. Participants will also be invited to join the Varsity Cheerleaders
on the field to perform at a Patriot home football game!
When: June 7 and June 9
Half day: 9 AM-1PM
Full day: 9 AM-3PM
Cafeteria doors will open at 8:30 am for check in.
Where: East View High School Dance Studio
Who: Ages 4 to 11
All registrations will be done online only.

Student Stop the Bleed Class on August 4
In this Hemorrhage Control Training, your student will learn scene safety and awareness, how to recognize life-threatening bleeding, the appropriate interventions for bleeding control, and applications of bleeding control techniques.
Please fill out this form if you would like your GISD student(s) to attend this training course. Please submit only one student per entry.
GISD Elementary Library STEM Camp
Come join your elementary school librarians for a fun week of STEM activities! Camps are open to any GISD student in grades 2-5 for the 2022-23 school year. The camps will be held at Williams Elementary June 13-16 and Wolf Ranch Elementary June 20-23. Both camps will take place 9-11:30 AM every day.
Each camp session is limited to 50 students from any campus.

From the City of Georgetown: 2022 Sunset Movie Series returns this summer
The City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department is bringing back its Sunset Movie Series this summer.
Show times are as follows:
Friday, June 10: “Raya and the Last Dragon” (PG)
Friday, July 15: “Hook” (PG)
Friday, August 12: “Encanto” (PG)
The screenings will take place in the Legacy Pavilion in San Gabriel Park at sunset, about 8:30 pm.
This is a free community event. Moviegoers are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, and picnics.
Come early for free popcorn, to explore the park, and to visit with vendors.
