Superintendent Search: Share Feedback through Stakeholder Focus Groups or Online Survey
Hazard, Young and Attea, Associates has been secured to lead the search for a new superintendent and will be hosting stakeholder sessions for interested students, staff and community members to connect in person and share their hopes and dreams for a new leader.
Join the search firm for one of two open forums for parents and community members on May 17 or 18 at the Hammerlun Center for Leadership & Learning. Visit our website for details.
If you’re interested in providing feedback and unable to attend one of these in-person sessions, please click this link to access the Leadership Profile Survey. The survey will remain open through May 19. Please note, the survey is conducted by the search firm, which ensures that your individual responses are kept anonymous and confidential.
District Seeks Feedback from Parents and Staff via Annual Survey
Annual climate survey information, including links to participate, were emailed to parents and staff on Tuesday, May 10. We encourage every parent and staff member in GISD to respond and share your experience in GISD during the last school year. Information is collected anonymously and used to inform our work including campus improvement plans and pathway development.
Surveys will remain open through May 26, 2023.

Bridges - May 18, 5:30 pm at Hammerlun
Richarte High School - May 25, 7 pm at Klett PAC
East View High School - May 26, 8 pm at Birkelbach
Georgetown High School - May 27, 8 pm at Birkelbach

2023-24 GHS, Benold and Forbes Physicals May 17
Georgetown High School will host a physical event for students in the GHS feeder pattern: Benold, Forbes and GHS on May 17 starting at 5 p.m. Any students participating in extracurricular activities (athletics, fine arts, UIL, etc.) are invited to participate.
All student-athletes entering 7th-12th grades are required to have an annual physical examination each year.
Cost: $20/student

GISD Special Education College & Career Exploration Camp June 5-9
GISD will host a summer camp for students ages 14-22 receiving special education services, provided by Bloom Consulting!
The camp will take place at Bridges in the Old Carver Elementary School, 1200 W. 17th Street, June 5-9 from 8 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
The camp will cover the 5 following areas through fun and engaging activities:

From the Georgetown Cultural Citizens Memorial Association (GCCMA): Juneteenth Classic 3v3 Basketball Tournament
The Georgetown Cultural Citizens Memorial Association (GCCMA) presents a Juneteenth celebration every year. This year, it will be on June 17 at the Georgetown Community center. As part of the festivities, GCCMA is partnering with a GTX Connect program called Youth Sports Outreach (YSO), to hold a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. YSO strives to expand the opportunities and balance the arena for athletes by combining talent and experience with new skills and sports training.
Students in middle and high school are invited to come out for some fun, friendly competition.
Early registration deadline: May 19 ($15 per team)
Late registration deadline: June 1 ($30 per team)
Proceeds will be used to offset the cost of the event (Prizes, T-Shirts, Medals, etc.)
