In this week’s eNews:
Safety & Security Committee August Update
The GISD Safety and Security Committee convened on Thursday, August 10. This committee, consisting of a variety of district stakeholders, is required by Texas Education Code to meet each semester and once during the summer. Agenda items throughout the year include reviewing the district’s Emergency Operating Plan, working with Georgetown Police Department to increase police presence on campus, and providing the district feedback and input on a variety of safety-related items.
The purpose of this meeting was to update the group on the district’s safety-related summer work and to share information related to HB 3, the Texas school safety bill passed this past June.

If you are unable to access your student's scores through Skyward or the Texas Assessment website, please reach out to your student's campus.
Credit by Exam offered to students K-12
Credit by Exam (CBE) is offered by GISD free of charge for enrolled students in grades K-12. The purpose of CBE testing is for acceleration (students wishing to test out of a grade or course without having prior instruction), verification (verifying credit from homeschool or non-accredited private/public school), or recovery of credit for a course in which the student has had prior instruction.
