Join us for a Discussion on True Accountability - Feb 27

Several years ago, we embarked on an exciting journey with the Texas Public Accountability Consortium (TPAC) to reimagine what accountability looks like for public schools. Now, we are ready to take the next steps toward True Accountability and invite you to participate in this process.

Join us for a community summit to review our work, which has been driven by our strategic plan, and discuss the pursuit of a deeper level of accountability. One that walks beside the State accountability system and takes a deeper look into the work we are doing. One that takes into account the hopes and dreams we have for our students.

The summits are being offered on two dates:
Thursday, Feb. 27
Monday, March 2
At 6 pm at the Hammerlun Center for Leadership & Learning

Visit our website for details and to RSVP. Light snacks will be provided at these events. We hope you’ll join us as we take the next step in empowering every learner to Lead, Grow and Serve.

Inside GISD: a Community Tour Event - Feb 28

At GISD, we’re proud of the unique cultures, programs and student experiences at each of our campuses. As educators, we are fortunate to see those things first hand every day and now we’d like to invite you to see “inside” our schools, too.

Our first Inside GISD event will take place at East View High School next Friday, Feb. 28. Join us from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. for a complimentary lunch, a tour of EVHS, student showcases, and more.

Please RSVP at this link. Please note that we do have a limited capacity, and we’ll be accepting RSVPs on a first-come, first-serve basis. Opportunities to visit other campuses will be available in the future. We’ll post more information as it becomes available at www.georgetownisd.org/insideGISD.

From the Georgetown Complete Count Committee: 2020 Census Coming Soon

Look for a mailing from the U.S. Census Bureau in March and respond to the survey online, by phone, or by mail. The 2020 Census marks the first time you will have the option to respond online. Everyone living in the U.S. is required by law to be counted in the 2020 Census.

You will be asked a few simple questions, like age, gender, and the number of people who live in your home, including children. Your personal information is confidential and cannot be shared with anyone, including any government agencies or law enforcement. The Census will never ask you for your social security number, money or donations, or credit card numbers.

Census data are used to adjust electoral districts and shape how federal money is spent for roads, schools, health clinics, student loans, housing, and fire departments.

Learn more at 2020census.gov.
