Georgetown and East View High Schools both received Division 1 ratings for their performances during the Region 26 UIL marching band competition, which took place at Birkelbach Stadium Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Congratulations to both bands on a job well done!
Georgetown High School and East View High School will be the sole competitors during the Region 26 UIL marching band competition, which will take place at Birkelbach Stadium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
The two high schools were the only ones in the region to elect to participate in the competition this year, and the two programs are using the opportunity to celebrate the hard work of the students, the persistence and passion of the directors, the advocacy of campus and district administration, and the enduring support of GISD’s parents and community members.
The East View High School marching band will present its show entitled “BeliEVe” which features the song “Mr. Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra and a medley from “The Incredibles.”
The Georgetown High School marching band and color guard’s show is entitled “EFND.” It features music from the Electric Light Orchestra, Joe Cocker, and Pasek and Paul.
Admission for the competition is free, and no concessions will be sold. Attendees will be required to wear a mask and practice physical distancing.
