Skyward Opens Tomorrow for Third Nine-Weeks Learning Preferences

Starting tomorrow, Nov. 20, families will be able to update their learning preferences in Skyward Family Access for the third nine-weeks grading period. Students may elect to learn in-person or remotely for the next grading period begins Jan. 5. This window to update preferences will remain open through Sunday, Dec. 6.

Updates to High School Semester Exams

Traditionally, at the end of each semester, students take final exams which count as 20% of a student’s semester average in each course. Due to the impact of COVID-19 and the implications of having students in such varying circumstances and learning environments, Campus and District Administration has made the decision to not administer fall semester final exams in high school credit courses.

In lieu of fall semester final exams, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate recovery of learning through an assessment or reassessment of content from earlier in the semester. Teachers will work in professional learning community teams or departments to collaborate on re-assessment opportunities.

These opportunities will apply to most major test grades with the exception of extended, ongoing projects that spanned multiple days or weeks. Grades earned will be used to adjust the student’s 1st and/or 2nd 9 weeks grade. The semester average will simply be the average of the 1st and 2nd 9 weeks grades. Additional information and details are available from your student’s campus.

From the City of Georgetown: Share Your Thoughts About the Proposed Projects for a May 2021 Mobility Bond

The City of Georgetown is putting together a mobility bond package for a vote by its residents in May 2021, and we want your feedback on the proposed list of projects.

The primary focus areas of this mobility bond are:

  • Increasing capacity of Georgetown’s roadway network and bridges with high traffic volume.
  • Improving intersections, building sidewalks, and enhancing safety throughout Georgetown to create new connections within and among neighborhoods.
  • Coordinating with other planned transportation work, including projects identified in our Pedestrian and Bike master plans, to accelerate delivery to Georgetown residents.
  • Residents will drive the development of this bond, from a citizen advisory committee that will provide final recommendations to multiple opportunities for public feedback before the election is called.

Help us pave a future we can all get behind: Share your thoughts about the proposed transportation projects. Comments open now through Dec. 7:
