Student Artwork Featured in GISD Virtual Art Exhibit

Beginning Tuesday, March 30, the Georgetown ISD fine arts department is offering a virtual art show, in partnership with the Georgetown Public Library.

The art show features the outstanding work created by GISD fine arts students over the course of the 2020-21 school year. The featured work includes state and national award-winning work in a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, 3D, ceramic, sculpture, photography and digital artwork.

The featured work is hand selected by GISD fine arts teachers and includes art from both in-person and remote learners. Fine Arts Director Carol Watson shared the benefits to this year’s special circumstances.

“The challenges of this school year have presented opportunities to expand the audience that our students enjoy and experience new ways of sharing their art with others,” Watson said. “It has also encouraged kids to think differently about how they express themselves artistically and make use of the materials available to them.”

You can view the GISD virtual art show on our website at www.georgetownisd.org/artshow. We also encourage you to provide positive feedback to students and teachers through a form link on each campus webpage.
