District Reviews Attendance Zones to Address Growth and New Campuses
Growth in Georgetown requires thoughtful planning and the board of trustees reviewed a plan at the October meeting to rezone parts of the district that would be implemented with the 2020-2021 school year.
The process will create attendance zones for Williams Elementary School and Wolf Ranch Elementary School, both of which are under construction now and planned for a late summer 2020 opening. Additionally, zones will be adjusted to relieve capacity issues at Carver Elementary, Mitchell Elementary and Wagner Middle Schools as well as maximize capacity at all GISD campuses.

From The City: Survey on Public Parking Garage
The City of Georgetown is planning to build a public parking garage at the southeast corner of Main and Sixth streets on the site of an existing City parking lot. The site was selected to address the limited public parking and growing retail development on the northeast side of downtown, to provide an alternative to on-street parking on residential streets in this area, and to fit the $5 million budget for the project.
The City is seeking input through a public survey on the design and appearance of the downtown parking garage. The online survey is open through Oct. 30.
