Deb Jacobson Announced as Director of Assessment
The Georgetown Independent School District announced during Thursday’s meeting of the board of trustees that Deb Jacobson has been selected as the new Director of Assessment for the district.
Jacobson has served as District State Assessment Coordinator in Leander ISD for the past four years. Before that, she worked in Hays CISD as a District Assessment Specialist. Jacobson is also a former teacher. She earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from Lamar University and has a bachelor of arts degree in biological sciences from the University of Alaska.
Jacobson’s assessment experience in large, fast-growth school districts will benefit GISD by helping the district build effective, sustainable systems and processes for assessment and feedback. She will lead efforts to use a variety of data to inform student-centered decision making in alignment with GISD’s strategic framework. Jacobson replaces Gabi Nino, who was recently selected to lead elementary campus leadership efforts in Belton ISD.
Jacobson will start in her new role on Oct. 19.
