Course Verifications, Personal Graduation Plans Due Tomorrow
The deadline for all students entering grades 6-12 to submit course request changes for the 2021-21 school year is Friday, April 16 at 4 p.m.
Students entering 6th-12th grades:
Step 1: Please take a moment to sign in with your student account to review the posted course verification sheet containing the courses your student has requested for the 2021-22 school year. This sheet is available in Skyward under the Mailings tab.
Students entering 9th-12th grades only:
Step 2: Once you have completed Step 1, you may then sign in with your parent account to review and sign your student’s personal graduation plan. This is available under the Career Plan tab.
Visit our website for more information.
If you would like to request course changes, visit the counseling services website at www.georgetownisd.org/schedulechanges.
STAAR Test Information
State Assessments for STAAR 4th and 7th grade writing, English I and English II EOC begin in April.
Your student's campus will communicate test dates, location and report times. Students who are remote learners and need transportation to their campus for testing can board the bus at the stop closest to their home in the morning. Those students will be returned following the early release schedule for their campus unless they need extra time to complete testing, in which case they will ride the regular release bus. Students can also be picked up by a parent or guardian. Parents should expect a survey from their campus where they can express a need for their students to ride the bus on specific testing days.
We shared more information about STAAR, TELPAS and end-of-course exams on our website here.
NWEA MAP Mid-Year Progress Reports Now Available for Grades K-8
GISD students in kindergarten through 8th grade take NWEA MAP growth assessments to determine their instructional achievement level and growth over time in reading and math. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. For students who were assessed in January, MAP mid-year progress reports are now available in Skyward Family Access under the mailings tab. You can learn more about the information provided in the report by accessing the NWEA®/MAP® website.

2021-22 New Student Enrollment Now Open
Georgetown ISD is now offering new student enrollment online for the 2021-22 school year.
Incoming pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and other students who are new to the district are invited to visit our online enrollment portal to start the enrollment paperwork online. New student enrollment is only for students who are not currently enrolled in a GISD school in the 2020-2021 school year.
The required documents may be uploaded online, or families may schedule an enrollment appointment with a registrar for additional assistance with the enrollment process.
Please share this information with your neighbors or other families who will be new to the district next year. We look forward to welcoming new students to GISD schools!
Returning Student Registration Open for 2021-22
If your student is currently enrolled and will be returning to GISD schools next year you may now complete returning student registration in Skyward Family Access. Please take a few minutes to provide updated information for each of the students in your family, including cell phone numbers and emergency contact information so that campuses have accurate information and can communicate with you about the upcoming school year.
Now Accepting Dual Language Program Applications for Incoming Kindergarteners
Families interested in applying for our dual language program are encouraged to watch the informational video on the dual language district webpage. The program is offered at Carver, Cooper, Purl, Village and Williams for new kindergarten students. Students zoned to other campuses may still apply to the program. If accepted, your student would be enrolled in a dual language campus that is not their home campus Applicants are encouraged to apply during the early application window to receive confirmation of program acceptance prior to the fall. The early applicant deadline is May 28.
